Sample article: Becoming a commercial pilot

==Becoming a commercial pilot==
For many pilots flying across the world at the controls of some of the most experienced aircraft in existence, is their dream job. All you require is a commercial pilot certificate which allows you to fly most common aviation aircraft. One advantage of this type of license is that it is easy to acquire compared to a private pilot’s license. This is because of the fewer flight training hours that one is required to undergo before obtaining it. The only limiting factor with this type of licensing is that it is more restrictive ( in terms of the number of passengers that one is supposed to carry, the horsepower of the aircraft that you will be allowed to fly, the distance and attitude allowed to fly at and the conditions under which you will be allowed to fly).
==requirements needed to become a commercial pilot==
You can only become a pilot with this type of license if you fulfill the following; first, you need to be at least 18 years of age. Secondly, you need to understand how to read, write, communicate and by extension, understand English. Thirdly, you need to receive a logbook endorsement from an authorized instructor. Key duties of the instructor are highlighted on CFR 61. 123 (1 and 2). He conducts the required ground training and certifies that you are prepared for the required knowledge test.
Special attention is also given to the requirements for commercial pilot certificate eligibility as stipulated in CFR 61.127 (flight proficiency). Here, becoming a pilot requires that you receive both the log ground and flight training from an authorized instructor on specific areas of operation. You will be exposed to several activities such as preflight preparation and procedures, navigation, performance maneuvers and emergency operations. Additionally, you will be required to log at least 250 hours of flight time which further subdivided into; 100 hours in powered aircraft, another 100 hours of pilot-in-command flight period and 50 hours in airplanes (CFR 61.129.1 and 2). Thereafter, your piloting ability will be tested with reference to flight proficiency tests. If you pass the test, you will earn a commercial pilot certificate.
== Once you pass the test==
Once you pass the test you will be allowed to fly at an altitude of more than 10000 feet and also able to fly between sunrise and sunset. Additionally, you will be allowed to act as pilot in command of an aircraft and be able to carry persons or property for compensation or higher.
